The following people have qualified for the Senate District 9 special election.

- Stacy Lee George
- Wes Kitchens
The seat in Senate District 9 – which covers portions of Blount, Marshall, Madison counties – became vacant following the resignation of former Senate Majority Leader Clay Scofield. Senator Scofield resigned to accept an opportunity in the private sector.
The special General Election will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
